Historically, Cheshire is a force of nature on any playing field, but the Lady Spartans Soccer Team was ready to face off with the Rams on Friday in a Southern Connecticut Conference Housatonic Division game at Amity.

Amity’s biggest threat, Captain Maeghan Howard tried to play, but in the first few minutes left with pain in her knee.

There was no score in the first half but Amity fouled a Cheshire player about 5 yards outside the box.

Cheshire converted the kick with a high shot just above Goalie Zoie Reed’s reach (tough shot to stop).

Cheshire added another goal later in the half.

Reed had 8 saves for the Spartans (2-1-1)

Amity had its first loss of the season 2-0.
