On Friday, many senior residents, volunteers and vendors braved the torrential downpours to attend the annual Senior Health and Safety Fair at High Plains Community Center
The Orange VNA provided blood pressure screenings, the Orange Lions Club arranged for vision screenings and the Parish Nurses of Griffin Hospital offered osteoporosis screenings, breast wellness and medication management.
Representatives from the Orange Police Department and Fire Marshal’s office along with others from insurance companies, adult day care centers, housing options, banking services and municipal services in town provided information about services and products that benefit older adults.
Deputy Fire Marshal James Vincent said several residents requested smoke detector installation appointments, and Police Officer John Aquino drummed up interest for today’s Prescription Take Back opportunity at Stop & Shop.
This Fair was sponsored by the Orange Visiting Nurses Association, Orange Community Services, the Law Offices of Cohen & Wolf, Lend-A-Hand, and Coldwell Banker.
