The Orange Police put out a press release regarding the accident on Marsh Hill Road that closed the roadway for two hours Sunday afternoon.
Police are investigating a one-car accident on Marsh Hill Road that occurred around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30.
The unidentified driver sustained serious injuries after his northbound vehicle struck a utility pole near the Restaurant Depot driveway.
Orange Volunteer firefighters extricated the driver and he was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he “clings to life.”
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call Officer John Roshotnik at 203-891-2138.
Orange Live arrived (at what we were told was a fatal accident) moments after the fire trucks responded to the scene.
Marsh Hill Road was closed while police, firefighters and paramedics did their jobs.
Once home, preliminary information and the first fire truck and distance shots were posted, as well as updates about the road closure. We put the word “fatal” in parentheses until we received official word that the driver was breathing when he was transported to the hospital and clarified it within 45 minutes of the initial posting.
Police have not yet released the driver’s identity yet, so we don’t know if he is an Orange resident or not. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
Orange Live will not post photos of the vehicle since they can be very upsetting, and we regret any undue concern our use of (fatal) in the initial story may have caused.
