The Feast of the Tabernacles Begins At Sundown » Orange Live

Congregation Or Shalom, 605 Old Grassy Hill Road, begins the 7 day Feast of the Tabernacles at sundown tonight.

During this holiday Jews remember the wandering in the desert; it also is a harvest festival.

The observances includes building and “dwelling” in a booth; waving branches and a fruit during services

Sukkot will be celebrated at Or Shalom as follows:

Erev Sukkot: Sunday, September 30, 7:00 PM
(in Sukkah, weather permitting, bring coats)

Sukkot First Day: Monday, October 1, 9:30 AM
Homemade  lasagna prepared by Wesleyan University’s Kosher chef and Or Shalom friend, Stephanie Asher, will be served in the Sukkah,  Sunday & Monday, following the morning Service.

Sukkot Second Night: Tuesday, October 2, 7:00 PM
(in Sukkah,weather permitting, bring coats)

Shabbat of Sukkot Service: Friday, October 5, 7:00 PM
