Observing The Feast Of St. Francis of Assisi: Animal Blessing on Sunday » Orange Live

Oct 072012

A scene from last year’s blessing in Orange.

St. Francis of Assisi was known for his love for all creatures. Oct. 4, was the Feast Day of St. Francis and many churches across the country welcome four-legged, winged, finned and furry creatures to their doors for a special blessing.

The Church of the Good Shepherd, 680 Racebrook Road will host its annual Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Oct. 7, at 5 p.m.

Come One come all.

All creatures great and small (including ALL, not only dogs, cats, hamsters, turtles, birds, snakes, Alpacas, and even cows and horses!) are welcome.

Every day we receive a special kind of unconditional love from our pets no matter how big or small.  Just as we receive blessings for ourselves, don’t our other family members deserve them too?

All pets must be caged or leashed for their own and everyone’s safety.
