Police were dispatched to the intersection of the Boston Post Road and Racebrook Road Oct. 14 at 3:18 p.m. on a report of a vehicle that was stationary in the roadway.
Responding officers found Jose Acoltzi-Bautista, 49, of 90 Richards Place 2nd floor, West Haven, asleep in the driver’s seat while the car was idling and in gear.
Officers woke him up, secured the vehicle, then had Acoltzi-Bautista perform standardized roadside sobriety tests. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol (DUI).
He was released after posting $50 bond for court Oct. 29.
Patrol officers reportedly saw Christopher Pittman, 23, of 113 Cherry Ann St., Hamden and another person taking pumpkins from an outdoor display at Stop & Shop, 259 Bull Hill Lane, then smashing them on the ground, Oct. 19 a 1:39 a.m..
Initially both parties fled, but officers caught up with Pittman a short distance away and took him into custody.
Pittman was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and interfering with an officer. He was held on $1,000 bond.
Officers will continue this investigation to locate the second individual.
Violation of Protective Order
A Milford man surrendered himself at the Orange Police Headquarters, 314 Lambert Road, Oct. 12 at 4:51 p.m.
According to the report, Peter Sulzbach, 59, of 1120 New Haven Ave., Milford, was wanted on a warrant stemming from a Sept. 19 complaint by a person who held a protective order against him.
The order stated that Sulzbach was to have no contact with the protectee, and that order was violated when he drove to the protectee’s place of employment.
Sulzbach was charged with criminal violation of a protective order and released after posting $2,500 bond for court Oct. 15.
