On Wednesday, Oct. 24, at about 6:30 pm, the Orange Police Department, working in conjunction with the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force – South Central Office, arrested two men on narcotics charges in a parking lot off the Boston Post Road near the West Haven line.
The arrests were the culmination of an investigation into narcotics sales in the area.
Police served four outstanding arrest warrants associated with the case.
Among the items seized by police were approximately .5 grams of suspected heroin, 44 capsules of suspected powder MDMA (ecstasy or street name “Molly”), and 6 packages of suspected synthetic marijuana.
Ashmore Johnson, 45, of 417 Valley Street, New Haven, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a hallucinogenic substance, possession of a hallucinogenic substance with intent to sell, and possession of a cannabis type substance.
Johnson was held on bonds totaling $250,000.
Rodney Jones, 46, of 96 Rainbow Road, Bridgeport, was charged with possession of a hallucinogenic substance, possession of a hallucinogenic substance with intent to sell, and possession of a cannabis type substance.
Jones was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
