The Amity Spartans Hockey Team upped its record to 3-1 with Thursday’s 5-2 victory over Trinity Catholic at Bennett Rink in West Haven.

In the first period, Trinity’s Steve Lamberikes scored the first goal assisted by DJ Davis at 5:40.

Amity’s Brett McNeil evened the score with an unassisted goal at 10:01.

Trinity pulled ahead with a goal by Eryk Weiglos assisted by Griffin Northrup at 12:00.

Amity came alive in the second period with John Crocker scoring a goal assisted by Brett McNeil and Adam Shea at 1:00; Shea scored at 3:43; and again at 4:19, assisted by Eric Dykun.

In the third period Dane Simone pulled the Spartans ahead even further with an unassisted goal at 4:35.

Amity outshot Trinity 44 – 27

Trinity Goalies Kyle Odeirno recorded 30 saves, Brian Kollar had 9 and Amity’s Nick Nuzzolo made 25.

After this game, Amity’s record is 3-1: Trinity Catholic 0-5.
