The Lady Spartans dunked the Gaelettes 39-24, in Friday’s SCC Housatonic Division game in Woodbridge.
Coach Michelle Martinik said the team worked hard and earned every point, “Nothing comes easy,” she said.
The game high scorer was Amity’s Mikaila Schmitt with 16 points, followed by Chloe Brinton with 14 points.
Schmitt had seven rebounds and four steals.
Other players scoring in this game were Kristin Post 2; Molly Ronan 2; Janae Graham 3; Isabella Bierezowiec 2.
Martinik said a lot of girls are getting a turn on the court this season, including Caroline McDonald, Rachel Nevolis, Sarah Rives, Amanda Vecchio, Kathleen Seng, and Ashley Wu.
At last week’s Woodland game, everyone on the team had a chance to play, she said.
Shelton’s record is now 3-5.
Amity’s record is 7-1.
The Lady Spartans play at Jonathan Law on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
