Amity Teen Center President Jane Opper (far right) is grateful for two recent donations to the Teen Center.
On Friday, Jan. 11, the Amity Teen Center received a check from Connecticare for $21,491.18 through the Neighborhood Assistance Act.
Teen Center President Jane Opper said, “We are using the money for solar panels to go onto our new roof. I’m not really sure how it works, but Connecticare will receive a 100% tax deduction because we are a non-profit organization and we are using the money for energy conservation.”
The Teen Center also received a donation from United Illuminating/Southern Connecticut Gas for $6,017.53, through Neighborhood Assistance to be used for the same project.
