Tonight Amity Supt. John Brady will present his proposed budget to the Amity Board of Education in the Amity High Cafeteria at 6:30 p.m.
The budget which Orange Live posted online on Jan 20 shows a 2.8% increase for 2013-14.
That’s $44.8 million compared to the current 2012-13 budget of $43.6 million.
According to Brady, contractual salaries and the new state mandates are the main reason for the increase. “We continue to strive to present a budget that is reasonable and can be supported by all three member towns.”
New programs that are outlined include a digital photography lab, funding for the girls hockey team and a physics in engineering class.
You’ve had two weeks to look at this proposal, so there shouldn’t be any surprises tonight.
