THIS JUST IN: State Travel Ban Has Been Lifted » Orange Live

Feb 092013

This is a message from the Orange Police Department.

The governor has lifted the travel ban as of 4 pm.  However, many secondary roads are impassable.

Do not attempt to drive on roads that have not been plowed.  Snow drifts may be several feet deep.  Stuck and stranded vehicles will hamper efforts to open roadways.

The highway department has no estimate as to when all roads will be cleared.  Please do not tie up emergency dispatchers with questions regarding road openings. Please be patient.

We are asking residents to shelter in place while crews clear roads.

CERT member practices what she preaches.

When clearing driveways, DO NOT leave snow piles in the roadway, this can limit access for emergency vehicles.

Please clear hydrants in your neighborhood, if possible.

Consider checking on elderly neighbors.

The shelter remains closed at this time.
