Police Chief Robert Gagne spoke to the Board of Finance regarding the need for upgrading the Police Department’s radio system.
The Department currently pays $25,000 year for a radio system that depends on copper wire.
They currently are limited to radio communication, which sometimes is problematic.
A wireless radio system would cost $125,000 and pay for itself in 5 years.
It also would provide live feed video from in the field to the station, including accessing video from all of the schools.
