In his weekly newsletter, Amity Principal Charles Britton announced the following news:

Amity Math Team

The Amity Math Team competed in the Greater New Haven Mathematics League Contest #5 at Hamden High School.

The Spartans secured 3rd place in the league amongst New Haven County behind Choate Rosemary Hall and Hopkins.

The Amity Spartans remain in first place amongst public schools.  An Amity student was awarded top team scorer.

The Spartans ranking secures Amity an invitation to the state competition to be held April 2, 2013 at Bristol Eastern High School.

Robotics Team

The Amity Robotics Club competed in the Vex Robotics Southern New England Championship at Manchester High School on February 17th.

The team ranked 3rd overall out of 67 teams.

The Amity teams plan on competing at the Northern New England Regional Championship to be held March 9th in New Hampshire.

This event is a qualifier for the Vex World Championships held in the early spring in California.
