From Amity Principal Charles Britton:
We are keeping a wary eye on the weather. If school is impacted by the pending storm, the following scenarios will unfold:
1. If school is delayed on Thursday, all students are expected to arrive at school on a two-hour delayed opening schedule. The CAPT testing for Thursday would be cancelled, and rescheduled for Friday.
2. If school is canceled on Thursday, we will open school on a two-hour delay schedule for juniors and seniors on Friday. Sophomores and freshmen will be expected to arrive at school at the regular time on Friday. Freshmen will take a practice CAPT assessment. Sophomores will take the second Interdisciplinary Writing section of the CAPT.
3. If school is canceled or delayed on Thursday and Friday, then we will open school on a two-hour delay schedule for juniors and seniors on Monday. Sophomores and freshmen will be expected to arrive at school at the regular time on Monday. Freshmen will take a practice CAPT assessment. Sophomores will take the second Interdisciplinary Writing section of the CAPT.
The entire testing schedule will simply be pushed forward if school is impacted by delays or cancellations this week. I will email updates once the impact of the weather is realized. The Superintendent of Region 5 Public Schools, Dr. Brady, will be making decisions about cancellations or delays after consulting with BOW superintendents.
Let’s all hope for rain, followed by sunny skies.
