drunk-driving_370x278[1]Patrol officers clocked a vehicle traveling at 60mph in a 45mph zone, and swerving within the lanes of Derby Avenue on May 8 at 1:31 a.m.

When officers stopped the vehicle, they administered standardized roadside sobriety tests to the driver, John Zadworny Jr., 59, of 20 Doyle Drive, Ansonia.

Zadworny was taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, speeding and failure to drive in a proper lane.

He was released after posting $50 bond, for court May 22.

Patrol officers reportedly saw a car drive through a red light on the Boston Post Road, eastbound, on April 19 at 12:53 a.m.

After stopping the vehicle, police administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Amanda Houley, 20, of 323 Center St., Apt. D-2, West Haven.

Houley was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and failure to obey a traffic signal.

She was released on $50 bond for court May 3.

Fake ID

During the above mentioned traffic stop, officers asked the passenger for identification and she gave them what was determined to be a fake State of CT driver’s license.

According to the report, Paige Moran, 19, of 6 Colonial Place, West Haven, stated that she had purchased the license on the internet in order to appear to be over 21 years old.

The fake license was seized by officers, and Moran was taken into custody and charged with third-degree forgery

She was released on a promise to appear in court May 3.

Police Blotter Logo thx DavePolice were dispatched to the Boston Post Road on the report of an erratic driver on the Boston Post Road, westbound on Wednesday April 10 at 5:53 p.m.

According to the report, officers located and stopped the car and administered standardized roadside sobriety tests to the driver, Frances Kunajukr, 53, of 318 Peck Lane.

Kunajukr was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and released after posting $50 bond for court April 24.

orange police duiA SHELTON MAN was stopped on Derby Avenue (Route 34) after patrol officers reportedly observed him driving erratically on March 17 at 2:58 a.m.

According to the report, Freddy Castro, 47, of 14 Summer St. Shelton, was asked to perform standardized roadside sobriety tests, after which he was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI).

Castro was released after posting $50 bond for court April 1.

 

OFFICERS RESPONDED to a report of a traffic accident on the Boston Post Road on March 17 at 8:03 p.m.

During the investigation, officers had one  of the involved drivers, Elizabeth Cutler, 43 of 10 Fox Run Road, Guilford, perform roadside sobriety tests.

She was subsequently taken into custody, charged with DUI and following too closely. She was released after posting $60 bond for court April 1.

 

INVESTIGATION INTO a motor vehicle accident on Marsh Hill Road at which one driver left the scene on March 15 at 7:53 p.m., led to the arrest of a Milford teen.

Responding officers caught up with Dakota Neumon, 18, of 228 Old Field Lane, a short distance away, and administered roadside sobriety tests, after which she was taken into custody and charged with DUI and evading the scene of an accident.

Neumon was released after posting $50 bond for court March 28.

Police were dispatched to Marsh Hill Road on a report of a motor vehicle accident where one of the involved drivers left the scene at 7:53 p.m. on March 15.

Patrol officers were able to catch up with the evading vehicle, driven by Dakota Neumon, 18, of 228 Old Field Lane, Milford, a short distance away and administered standardized roadside sobriety tests.

Neumon was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol (DUI), and evading the scene of an accident.

She was released after posting $50 bond for court March 28.

When they stopped the car, officers administered standardized roadside sobriety tests to Daniel Boemmels, 35, of 90 Rentell Road, Hamden.

Boemmels was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive in a proper lane.

He was released on $50 bond for court March 18.

DUI Arrests

Orange patrol officers reportedly observed a car driving erratically westbound on Route 34, Jan 19 at 12:52 a.m.

Police stopped the car and administered roadside sobriety tests to the driver, John Erlingheuser, 42, of 6 Belleview Terrace, Ansonia

Erlingheuser was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and failure to maintain a proper lane.

He was released after posting $50 bond for court Feb. 4.

 

THE FOLLOWING morning, Jan. 20 at 1:08 a.m. patrol officers in the same area stopped a car that was driving at a reduced speed (under the minimum speed limit), and had the driver, Charles Malmeth, 22, of 553 Roosevelt Drive, Oxford, perform standardized roadside sobriety tests.

Malmeth was subsequently taken into custody and charged with DUI, driving without a license, possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana and traveling at a slow speed.

It was learned that Malmeth also was wanted on arrest warrants from the Connecticut State Police and the Watkins Glen, NY police.

He was held for court.

 

Disturbance and interfering

Orange Police responded to a disturbance complaint at Walgreens, 54 Boston Post Road, on Jan. 21 at 2:40 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers learned that Nathan Smith, 57, of 83 Fremont Street, Bridgeport had been loudly arguing with employees inside the store.

During the investigation Smith reportedly began to struggle with an officer and refused to comply with commands. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer’s investigation.

Smith was held for a Jan. 22 court date.

Drunken Driving

Officers responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Route 34, Jan. 9 at 8:23 p.m.

According to the report, officers had one of the involved drivers, Norman McFarland, 40, of 99 Yates St, West Haven, submit to standardized roadside sobriety tests.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain proper lane position.

McFarland was released after posting $100 bond for court Jan. 23.

 

Protective Order Violation

Officers responded to a home on Sarah Circle regarding the violation of a protective order.

The complainant stated that she received text messages from Neil Bridgers, 29, of 18 North Spring St, Ansonia, who had been ordered by the court to have no contact with her in any way. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with violation of a protective order.

Bridgers was held on $10,000 bond

 

Possession of Marijuana

Officers conducting traffic patrol stopped a vehicle on Route 34 eastbound at 2:05 a.m. on Jan. 14.

Officers observed that the driver, Carlos Marcano, 28, of 28 Ridge Court West 3B, West Haven, was in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

He was issued an infraction ticket for possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana.

Carrying a Firearm While Under The Influence

A Ansonia man wanted on a warrant surrendered himself at Police headquarters Nov. 1 at 4:57 p.m.

According to the report, he warrant stemmed from an incident on Sept. 15, at the Orange Fairgrounds (525 Orange Center Road) during the Orange Country Fair.

At that time,  John Powe, 63, of 50 Benz Street, Ansonia was observed acting erratically in the parking lot of the fairgrounds. When officers spoke to him, it was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs and that he was carrying a legal and validly registered handgun.

The handgun was seized, and officers obtained a warrant for his arrest, charging carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Powe was released on a promise to appear in court Nov. 15.

 

Drunken Driving and Drug Possession

Last Friday, Oct. 26, patrol officers observed a vehicle driving erratically in a parking lot on the Boston Post Road, then enter the roadway unsafely.

Officers stopped the vehicle, and had the driver, Jure Jukic, 29, of 50 Tomahawk Lane, Milford, perform standardized roadside sobriety tests.

Jukic subsequently was taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

During a search incident to the arrest, an officer located a small amount of marijuana and smoking pipes and the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana were added.

Jukic was released after posting $50 bond for court Nov. 9.
